Abshir
Guitarist Abshir has been featured in CBC’s ‘Top 30 Under 30’ Canadian classical musicians. He has also received first prize in guitar at the FCMF national competition in New Brunswick.
Abshir began his studies with Dr. Matthew Gould at Cambrian College. Since then, he has completed a Bachelor’s degree with Dr. Jeffrey Mcfadden at the University of Toronto, and a Master’s degree with David Tanenbaum and Dr. Richard Savino at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Abshir is in the process of completing doctoral research on the topic of tone production pedagogy on the classical guitar.
Abshir has performed both solo and ensemble music at numerous venues, such as the University of San Francisco, the Arts and Letter’s Club of Toronto, and the Centre for New Music, San Francisco. He has also performed in masterclasses with many world-renowned artists such as: David Russell, Jason Vieaux, Pavel Seidel, and Ricardo Gallen.
