Voice Faculty
Bella
Bella is a versatile soprano who studied at the University of California, Santa Cruz, for a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in voice performance. Bella began vocal training at a young age and has thoroughly enjoyed her time as a member and section leader of various choral ensembles throughout the past 15 years. During her time at UCSC, she studied voice under Sheila Willey and participated in several operas and productions. Her favorite roles include Venus in Orpheus in the Underworld, Pamina in The Magic Flute, Jack’s Mother in Into the Woods, and Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro. Her music studies at UCSC have also given her strong foundations in music theory, keyboard, and pedagogy. In addition to her classical and musical theater training, Bella has over 10 years of training in contemporary music and has been consistently performing throughout those years. During her time at UCSC, she led one of the school’s collegiate a cappella groups and was music director for 3 consecutive years. During those years, she gained valuable experience in coaching and teaching people in a wide variety of genres, many of them having had no prior experience in an organized music setting.
Bella believes that music is one of our best means of communication and expression as people, and is passionate about actively making music accessible and open to everyone. As a teacher, Bella strives to foster a collaborative, structured, and supportive learning environment where students of all ages are encouraged to explore, challenge, and build their voices and artistic expression. She strongly emphasizes building strong foundations in music theory, musical expression, and solid, healthy technique. She is passionate about helping her students feel confident in their artistic voice and fostering their love for music.
