Daniel
Dr. Daniel joined the guitar faculty at the California Conservatory of Music in 2026, bringing a rich background in international performance and dedicated music education to all three CCM campuses.
Originally from Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Mexico, Daniel’s musical journey includes a bachelor degree in classical guitar performance at ESMDM in Monterrey, Mexico and an extensive training in Europe, where he earned two master’s degrees from prestigious music conservatories in Italy, including the Arrigo Boito Conservatory in Parma and the Istituto Musicale Luigi Boccherini.
He recently completed his Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Classical Guitar Performance at the University of Kentucky, where he also spent three years teaching undergraduate beginning guitar students as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
As a performer, Daniel loves exploring diverse repertoires, from the intricate dance forms of the Baroque era to vibrant collaborations with contemporary composers. His doctoral research specialized in traditional indigenous melodies and ethnomusicology—a passion he actively brings into his teaching. Daniel is dedicated to creating a supportive, engaging environment for guitarists of all ages and skill levels, helping every student find their unique musical voice.
