As a performer, Ethan has had success as both a soloist and ensemble musician. His musically driven performances have been described as touching, engaging, and colorful. Most recently he performed as a member of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music orchestra playing both banjo and guitar.

Ethan’s teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in musical and emotional expression, while using technical and practical tools as a foundation to achieve these goals. He is also a firm believer in training the ear and basic musical skills such as rhythm and harmony. His approach is to provide an environment that values enjoyment and progress above all.
