March Guitar Student of the Month – Charlie Bonnette
This March, we’re excited to spotlight CCM guitar student, Charlie Bonnette, as our Student of the Month! Charlie has been taking guitar lessons with teacher Gianfranco at our Redwood City location for a year and a half! Charlie does a great job of applying new techniques to the pieces he is working on and has made great improvement. Teacher Gianfranco says that his ambition and adaptation skills are very admirable! Additionally, Charlie’s attention to detail and positive attitude has helped him progress steadily – way to go, Charlie!

What advice would you give to a guitar student just starting out at CCM?
Try your best and don’t give up — even when it’s hard. If you try hard enough and practice you can get better!
What piece are you looking forward to learning someday?
Ironman by Black Sabbath
What is your favorite thing about playing guitar?
The strings and the sound and all the tunes — it’s awesome.
What is your favorite food?
Ice cream
Do you have a pet?
Not anymore, but I can’t wait to get another cat someday!
Do you play any sports or do any other activities outside of music lessons?
Yes! I love baseball, football, soccer, golf, riding a bike, and video games.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
A fighter pilot, a race car driver, or a doctor.
What is your most memorable experience at CCM?
Playing at the recital in January! I was scared, but excited to perform and did a good job.

Regarding guitar instruction, what are you most proud of your child accomplishing?
I’m so proud of Charlie for staying positive and working hard — one song at a time. Gianfranco is the absolute best at keeping him motivated and engaged. We’re grateful to have such a fantastic teacher!

What advice would you give a new parent starting in the program?
Stick with it! And find ways to keep it fun as you foster your child’s love of music.
Why did you decide to give your child a musical upbringing?
Charlie has always loved music and begged to take guitar lessons. We’re following his lead!
