Junhong earned his undergraduate degree from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and a Master's degree in Violin Performance at the University of Central Oklahoma. He is currently in the ABD of his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Iowa.

Junhong has been a violin instructor for the Community Music Lesson Program at the University of Iowa where he taught beginners to advanced college-level violinists. Junhong's teaching philosophy revolves around instilling a genuine love for music, fostering technical excellence, and inspiring artistic expression. He firmly believes in tailoring his teaching methods to suit the unique needs and aspirations of each student. By providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment that combines patience, encouragement, and constructive feedback, Junhong strives to empower his students to achieve their utmost potential.

Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Excellent Performer Award at the Hong Kong International String Competition in 2016. Junhong has also had the honor of performing at prestigious events such as CollabFest at the University of North Texas, and he served as one of the three concertmasters at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival,
collaborating with renowned conductors.
