Qiu Chen is a Chinese pianist, who got the DMA (Doctoral of Musical Arts) degree of piano performance at University of Miami, the Frost School of Music in 2022. She studied with piano department chair professor Santiago Rodriguez. In addition, Qiu Chen also took a doctoral cognate in piano pedagogy as an area of sub-specialization. Previously, Qiu Chen received her Master’s degree in piano performance from Boston Conservatory of Music at Berklee in 2019, she studied with professor Jung Ja Kim. Then, she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in music performance (piano) in 2016 from Central Conservatory of music, China and she studied with professor Yunjie Chen.

Qiu Chen has lots of solo performance and cooperative piano experiences. For the solo performance experience, she gave a lot of solo concerts in Beijing, Hong Kong, Jiangxi, Boston, Miami, Vienna. She specializes in Liszt, Debussy, Rachmaninov, Schumann, CPE Bach, Haydn and Beethoven. For the cooperative piano performance experience, she has various collaborate experiences with violin, viola, cello, double bass, saxophone, piano, flute, and vocal music. She accompanied a number of flutist to took part in the woodwind competition in University of Miami, Frost school of music. In addition, she had three off-campus recitals with singer in Miami church and nursing home. The performances gained good reputation. Moreover, for the piano teaching experience, she had rich experience to teach children in China and United States. Besides children, she also taught students from high school, the students she taught were admitted to Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Shanghai Normal University, Wuhan Conservatory of Music and Central China Normal University.

In 2022, Qiu Chen won the Honorable Mention in American Virtuoso International Music Competition and gets an opportunity to be perform in Carnegie Hall in New York in 2023.
