Piano Faculty

Sean Ettlin is a hard-working pianist, guitarist, and composer. Through his college years, he was a caretaker for a family in Redwood City, and from those years he has plenty of experience working with and teaching children from preschoolers to high-schoolers. He is an SFSU graduate and began his piano studies at the College of San Mateo with Prof. Jane Jackson.

Sean is capable of teaching beginning piano to students as young as four years old, and has substituted for advanced students at Yelena Orduyan's piano school. He can also teach beginning-to-intermediate guitar in the pop and rock tradition. In addition to music experience, he continues to pursue his own education in mentorship and coaching, and his teaching style creates a safe and happy space for his students.

Sean is familiar with the Faber piano series, and he continues to be an invaluable resource in developing worksheets and pedagogy for young students. He and his partner are currently in the process of cultivating a series of piano worksheets and original repertoire that they're gearing up to share with other teachers beginning in 2024.
