Shannon

Shannon has been teaching violin to students of all ages in the Bay Area since 2020. Born and raised in Santa Clara, she began playing violin at age seven. Shannon has extensive performing experience as a soloist and in an ensemble. She has had the privilege of performing monumental orchestral works such as Dona Nobis Pacem by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Danzon No. 9 by Arturo Marquez as well as performing with pianist Tanya Gabrielian. She previously studied general music and violin performance with Brynn Albanese at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where she was active in the Cal Poly Symphony and chamber music. Shannon is currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Music in Performance degree at San Jose State University under the tutelage of Catalina Barraza. She plans on attending graduate school and earning a teaching credential in the future.As a teacher, Shannon utilizes different teaching methods to meet the needs of each student. She has experience teaching students of all age groups from young children to adults. She strives to create a safe, supportive, and fun environment for her students to thrive and achieve their musical goals.
