Tanisha
Tanisha is a recent graduate of San José State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. While at SJSU, she primarily studied bassoon, while also developing her skills on saxophone and clarinet. In addition to her wind instrument studies, Tanisha has been playing piano for 14 years.
During her time at San José State University, Tanisha performed in a variety of ensembles, including chamber groups, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra. These experiences have given her a broad perspective on musicianship and the collaborative nature of music making.
As a teacher, Tanisha currently teaches piano, focusing on helping students develop strong musical foundations while encouraging curiosity and enjoyment in their playing. She enjoys working with students of different ages and experience levels and believes that learning an instrument should be both rewarding and fun!
Outside of teaching and performing, Tanisha enjoys listening to orchestra and chamber music. Some of her favorite composers include Sergei Prokofiev, Claude Debussy, and Ravel.
