Guitarist Timothy has dedicated his professional life to One Great City, the duo he co-founded with the singular guitarist-soprano Alexandra Iranfar. One Great City is committed to developing a repertoire unique to them, and in 2013 the San Francisco Examiner declared, "One Great City brings a journey of discovery to every recital they prepare." As the primary music arranger of the duo, Timothy works diligently to render songs and piano works in the intimate and beautiful sonorities of the guitar. One Great City recently recorded their debut album titled “Excursions,” produced by Sérgio Assad, which features Timothy's transcriptions of Ned Rorem, Samuel Barber, Cole Porter, and Pat Metheny. As a soloist, Timothy has been described as “a strong player with a beautiful sound, solid technique… and a great enthusiasm for contemporary repertoire…” In March 2015, he gave the West Coast premiere of Judah Adashi’s Meditation for solo guitar.

Timothy received many honors while earning his Master of Music degree and Professional Studies Diploma at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Sérgio Assad and was a Graduate Assistant to the Guitar Department. He received Guitar Department Honors in 2013, the privilege of being the 2013 Graduate commencement speaker, and in 2011 represented the Conservatory at the Guitar Foundation of America’s Los Angeles Regional Symposium with his duo. Timothy was awarded a Bachelor of Music degree from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where he studied with the legendary pedagogue Ray Chester. At Peabody, he was invited to perform on the Peabody Thursday Noon Recital Series, placing him among the most advanced performers at the conservatory.

Timothy has taught privately, at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and San Francisco State University. Lessons with Timothy are fun and high energy, with a focused and methodical approach. Timothy aims to discover how each student learns, and to adapt their study of guitar to their unique learning style. He believes that every child can learn to play the guitar at a high level, and can find joy and happiness through sharing their music with others.
